Fading Moments

Fading Moments, explores the ephemeral nature of memory and the passage of time through sculptural transformation. Beginning with candle as source objects, I employed milk cotton, plastic capsule balls and colorful melted wax to create diverse sculptural forms reminiscent of fireworks, hands, birthday cakes, and bubbles. Each form symbolizes transient yet precious experiences in everyday life.
The process itself embodies the concepts of translation and transformation: solid wax candles are melted, dripped onto the textured surface of milk cotton wrapped around capsule balls, and then solidified again into new, delicate shapes. This repetitive act of melting and reshaping mirrors the way memories evolve, blur, and fade with time. The delicate and fragile quality of the wax sculptures serves as a metaphor for the fleeting and vulnerable nature of personal memory.
Displayed individually in frames, each sculpture becomes a captured fragment—a preserved yet precarious memory. Together, they invite contemplation of the delicate balance between preservation and loss, permanence and impermanence, and the ongoing transformation of our remembered past.
